Skip Hoist
A skip hoist (commonly referred to as a skip) is the ideal engineering solution wherever limited site space prevents positioning a long belt conveyor at a low angle. The skip acts as an efficient vertical transporter that receives the prepared aggregate (from a belt conveyor, a wheel loader, or even directly from wheelbarrows) and lightning-fast transports it upwards, straight into the charging throat of the mixer.
The design is fully scalable – its geometry and capacity (starting from 0.5 m³) are precisely matched to the dimensions and type of the concrete plant's heart, working perfectly with both planetary mixers and massive twin-shaft systems.
- Precise guidance at a 60° angle: The skip moves along a specially designed, stable track inclined at an optimal angle of 60 degrees. The construction relies on heavy-duty cast-iron rollers that are fully bearing-mounted and equipped with lubrication points. The thoughtful geometric shape of the skip guarantees residue-free discharge, and the mechanical emptying gate opens automatically at the highest point of travel.
- Industrial drive with high dynamics: A powerful winch with an output from 16 kW to 27 kW is responsible for the smooth and rapid movement of the skip. A large power reserve allows achieving excellent performance – the full travel time of the skip to the top is only about 12–14 seconds. This guarantees lightning-fast aggregate dosing and reduces individual batch duration to a minimum.
- Reduced loads and rope protection: The lifting system is based on a dual-pulley layout (cable reeving system), which according to the principles of mechanics doubles the pulling force, drastically reduces impact loads acting on the gearbox, and protects the winch from overloading. The industrial rope drum is precisely helical-grooved, which forces perfectly uniform wire rope winding wrap-by-wrap and categorically eliminates the risk of its jamming and accelerated wear.
- Armored steel core wire ropes: Only specialized, high-strength steel wire ropes equipped with an internal core with a thickness of 14 to 18 mm (depending on skip dimensions) are used in the system. The core perfectly dampens torsional stresses, drastically increases breaking and tensile strength, and guarantees long-term, safe operation under constant duty cycles.
- Triple safety system: An advanced arrangement of sensors integrated into the plant's automation system monitors the trouble-free operation of the skip. In addition to standard, duplicated limit switches at the extreme bottom and top of the track, the system is equipped with a third, crucial rope tension control sensor. It instantly detects any slack or unnatural resistance, momentarily cutting power to the winch and protecting the structure from mechanical damage.
