Silos

SolidTec cement silos are engineered, armored vertical structures designed for the safe storage and precise discharge of binding materials. Made of the highest quality industrial steel, they perform excellently in the tough realities of concrete batching plants, guaranteeing complete tight sealing, protection against moisture, and rigorous dust emission control.

We offer a full range of capacities tailored to the logistics of any facility: 30, 45, 60, 80, 100, and 120 tons of cement payload capacity.

Thoughtful Design and Modular Architecture

The silo structure is based on three main sections: the roof, the cylindrical shell, and the bottom conical hopper. Depending on the logistics and transport needs of the investor, SolidTec offers two execution versions: fully welded silos or bolted (modular) variants.

Ring Design (Bolted Version)

The silo shell in the modular version is built from special, thick-walled segments (4 elements per circumference), which when bolted together form a perfectly rigid ring. The final payload capacity and height of the silo depend on the number of vertical segments used. The entire structure is assembled using high-strength bolts and strictly sealed with a specialized silicone resistant to construction chemicals. This prevents moisture ingress and eliminates the risk of leaks at the joints.

Base and Service Zone
  • Supporting structure: The silo is positioned on an armored frame structure. We offer supporting legs with a height of 4 or 6 meters, allowing you to freely arrange the space beneath the silo (e.g., installation of long screw conveyors or mixer truck access).
  • Safe platform: Directly beneath the discharge hopper, mounted on the structural legs, is a spacious service platform made of hot-dip galvanized WEMA gratings and equipped with HSE protective railings, providing convenient access to the discharge fittings.

Filtration and Safety

Advanced Top Section

The top plate (roof hatch) constitutes the environmental and technical protection center of the silo:

  • Mechanical dedusting filter (2300 m³/h): An advanced air protection system meeting strict emission standards. Cement dust is retained on polyester pocket filter inserts. The device is equipped with a 250 W electric vibrator – after unloading is complete, it mechanically shakes the inserts, causing the filtered cement to fall freely under gravity back into the silo. The filter design allows for stable operation under high temperatures and pressure spikes.
  • Safety valve (Explosion protection): Protects the silo structure from sudden overpressure during pneumatic filling from a cement truck or underpressure during discharge.
  • Inspection infrastructure: On the roof, there is a sealed manhole and a protective railing around the entire perimeter, to which a vertical access ladder equipped with a safety cage leads.

Bottom Section

Smooth Discharge and Aeration System

To eliminate the biggest problem in cement storage – namely its bridging, packing, and the formation of so-called "chimneys" in the silo cone – SolidTec utilizes a mechanized aeration system.

Active Pneumatic Aeration System

Special nozzles are embedded in the side walls of the conical hopper (depending on the configuration: 4 in the hopper or up to 6 nozzles on the bottom shell) armed with a slot filter. When the screw conveyor starts up, the system automatically pumps dry, compressed air directly into the cement structure. This causes immediate, controlled fluidization of the material, eliminates static friction, and forces a smooth, gravitational drop of the raw material into the discharge throat.

Air Preparation

A dual-filter air dryer mounted on the silo leg is responsible for supplying perfectly dry medium. It protects the aeration nozzles and the cement itself from moisture, which could lead to localized binding and clogging of the system. At the client's request, we configure higher-rigor systems: triple-filter or with an enlarged capacity of drying inserts.

Discharge Fitting and Screw Connection

The hopper outlet opening is reinforced with a solid flange. A double-flange butterfly valve (shut-off valve) with an ergonomic lever for emergency or maintenance manual closing is bolted to it. Below the valve is the screw conveyor inlet connection equipped with a so-called "universal ball joint", which allows the installer to smoothly adjust and lock the incline angle of the screw conveyor towards the mixer.

Loading Automation: The silo is equipped with two independent level probes (minimum low sensor and maximum high sensor). Signals from the sensors are integrated into the batching plant's automation system, which effectively prevents silo overfilling while cement is blown through the loading pipe, which terminates in a standard Cam-lock quick coupling.

The Complete SolidTec Kit Includes:
  • Supporting structure (legs) with a standard height of 4 m (6 m option).
  • Silo shell: Modular design, assembled and bolted from shell segments (complete absence of crack-prone welded seams).
  • High-performance cement filter 2300 m³/h with 200W vibratory cleaning.
  • Complete aeration system (nozzles in the hopper + air dryer on the leg).
  • Overpressure/underpressure safety relief valve.
  • Manually operated double-flange butterfly valve.
  • Screw connection with a "universal ball joint".
  • Two filling level probes (min / max).
  • Loading pipe with Cam-lock coupling.
  • Vertical access ladder with HSE cage and roof handrails.
  • Service platform beneath the hopper made of WEMA gratings.
