SolidTec cement silos are engineered, armored vertical structures designed for the safe storage and precise discharge of binding materials. Made of the highest quality industrial steel, they perform excellently in the tough realities of concrete batching plants, guaranteeing complete tight sealing, protection against moisture, and rigorous dust emission control.
We offer a full range of capacities tailored to the logistics of any facility: 30, 45, 60, 80, 100, and 120 tons of cement payload capacity.
The silo structure is based on three main sections: the roof, the cylindrical shell, and the bottom conical hopper. Depending on the logistics and transport needs of the investor, SolidTec offers two execution versions: fully welded silos or bolted (modular) variants.
The silo shell in the modular version is built from special, thick-walled segments (4 elements per circumference), which when bolted together form a perfectly rigid ring. The final payload capacity and height of the silo depend on the number of vertical segments used. The entire structure is assembled using high-strength bolts and strictly sealed with a specialized silicone resistant to construction chemicals. This prevents moisture ingress and eliminates the risk of leaks at the joints.
The top plate (roof hatch) constitutes the environmental and technical protection center of the silo:
To eliminate the biggest problem in cement storage – namely its bridging, packing, and the formation of so-called "chimneys" in the silo cone – SolidTec utilizes a mechanized aeration system.
Special nozzles are embedded in the side walls of the conical hopper (depending on the configuration: 4 in the hopper or up to 6 nozzles on the bottom shell) armed with a slot filter. When the screw conveyor starts up, the system automatically pumps dry, compressed air directly into the cement structure. This causes immediate, controlled fluidization of the material, eliminates static friction, and forces a smooth, gravitational drop of the raw material into the discharge throat.
A dual-filter air dryer mounted on the silo leg is responsible for supplying perfectly dry medium. It protects the aeration nozzles and the cement itself from moisture, which could lead to localized binding and clogging of the system. At the client's request, we configure higher-rigor systems: triple-filter or with an enlarged capacity of drying inserts.
The hopper outlet opening is reinforced with a solid flange. A double-flange butterfly valve (shut-off valve) with an ergonomic lever for emergency or maintenance manual closing is bolted to it. Below the valve is the screw conveyor inlet connection equipped with a so-called "universal ball joint", which allows the installer to smoothly adjust and lock the incline angle of the screw conveyor towards the mixer.
Loading Automation: The silo is equipped with two independent level probes (minimum low sensor and maximum high sensor). Signals from the sensors are integrated into the batching plant's automation system, which effectively prevents silo overfilling while cement is blown through the loading pipe, which terminates in a standard Cam-lock quick coupling.
As a direct manufacturer of stationary batching plants, we take full responsibility for every stage of the investment. We do not use half-measures or unverified subcontractors. By choosing our company, you gain the certainty that the entire production line is built based on strict engineering standards, a modern machine park, and years of experience of the Barbatus team in the industrial market.
